Specialized household programs are specifically tailored to the needs of teens, expectant or postpartum ladies and also their dependent kids, those under guidance by the criminal justice system, or public inebriates for whom substantial treatment has not functioned (American Psychiatric Organization, 1995; Landry, 1996). Intensive outpatient treatment requires a minimum of 9 hrs of once a week attendance, normally in increments of 3 to 8 hours a day for 5 to 7 days a week.
